INTERACTING with Donuts!

Verna Morris (Dunstan High School) has created "Donut Activities" to promote confidence in conversational work with her Yr 11 classes, in preparation for the interact AS. She has found that by the time the students have gone round the circle twice, they were pretty good at coping with most of the questions. They do seem to rise to the challenge of not using English and in fact the ones with the cards get quite good at explaining the questions or modelling the answers to their partners. Teacher instructions and pupil cards are all included and you can download them below.

WRITING

Ali Rennie (Te Puke High School) has put together and shared the following templates for students to use for their writing portfolio. These templates are so that students spend less time of the presentation and more time on the content.

- In the first template, students can write a magazine questionnaire with comments on the results.

- The second template can be filled in with details of their own person (not necessarily the teacher shown, they should change picture/heading according to their own choice of person).

Spice up your Speaking and Writing!

froggy77 has published the two helpsheets below on the TES website.  They are packed with chunks of language that your students can use both in their interactions and in writing.  Why not download, print and either make as a classroom poster or laminate?
