Auberges de Jeunesse: a complete Unit of Work

Sue Pommarède (Rosehill College) has been doing some work on youth hostels with her Year 11 French class. She has shared the resources she has created:

1- A short powerpoint (11 slides) introduces the vocabulary.
2-  English reading comprehension questions for an excellent article found at
www.pratique.fr
3- A "fabulous example" of a 'formulaire' to fill in when booking a group into a youth hostel - an authentic document which is very user friendly.
4- A matching exercise - questions and answers used when booking a youth hostel.

One other great site Sue would like to bring to your attention is
http://www.cavilamenligne.com/ - Le Plaisir d’Apprendre - as it has "absolutely everything you could want and is so clearly laid out". Sue has thus also attached a 'fiche pédagogique' (5) she found there which is a webtask based on the FUAJ website.

Hilary de Joux (Nelson College for Girls) has shared the Carte de Conversation she has made on the topic "Holidays".  It is a guided conversation practise. This type of conversation card is useful not only for students who are nervous speakers but also for the more confident who can add impovisations. Students get into pairs and fold the conversation in half; If they are stuck, their partner has their part and can prompt them.
